General Context

The Executive Committee Member upholds the general aim and vision of the AAPT. He/she actively carries out the decisions made by the General Assembly. The Executive Committee members should represent all of Afghanistan, to ensure a broad coverage of the Association.

 

The Articles of AAPT provide further guidelines for the conduct of the Executive Committee Members.

 

Location

Regions. Comes to Kabul for Executive Committee meetings and the General Assembly, and as requested by the President or the Administrative Committee.

 

Role

The Executive Committee members have a governing role. Each member must act in the best interest of the Association, and must respect and act according to the Articles of the Association and its Code of Conduct. Each member works on a volunteer basis.

 

Responsible to

The President, the Administrative Committee and the General Assembly

 

Responsibility

    * Participate in planning and implementing activities based on the agenda set by the General Assembly
    * Work for the promotion and development of physiotherapy with relevant Ministries, organisations, medical- and health-care facilities, and educational faculties.
    * Act in accordance with the AAPT Articles and Code of Conduct.
    * Participate actively as part of the Administrative Committee and Executive Committee.
    * Carry out the reponsibilities as stated in §15 and §16 of the AAPT Articles.
    * Participate in planning and carrying through the General Assembly as stated in §13 of the AAPT Articles.
    * Head the Regional Committees, and acts as a connection to the field, transferring information between the Executive Committee and AAPT members.
    * Prepares suggested actitivities for the General Assembly for the next mandate period.

 

Qualifications


    * Diploma of a two (eventually three) year physiotherapy training
    * Employers written agreement for AAPT involvement
    * Computer and Internet skills are highly recommended
    * Written agreement from employer for AAPT involvement

JOB DESCRIPTION of PRESIDENT


 

General

The President of the Association is President of Executive Committee and Administrative Committee and the official representative of the Association. The position is a voluntary position.

The Articles of AAPT provide further guidelines for the conduct of the President.

 

Location

Kabul plus travel to the field as necessary to support the Regional Committees and promote the work of AAPT.

Role

The President governs the Association together with the other key Executive Committee members. He/she works with the support of the Management Assistant to achieve the vision and objectives of the Association, and leads the Executive Committee and Administrative Committee in fulfilling their responsibilities. He/she acts according to the Articles and the Code of Conduct of the Association.

 

Responsible to

The General Assembly

 

Responsibilities


    * Is the chief representative and advocate of the Association.
    * Leads and guides the Executive Committee and the Administrative Committee and follows the action plan set by the General Assembly.
    * Upholds the responsibilities as stated in §15 of the AAPT Articles.
    * Leads the planning of the General Assembly as stated in §13 of the AAPT Articles.
    * Develops agendas for the Executive Committee meetings in collaboration with the Management Assistant.
    * Chairs the Executive Committee and Administrative Committee meetings, and follows up on decisions taken together with the Management Assistant.
    * Financially responsible, together with the Treasurer, according to Chapter 6 of the Articles.
    * Prepares and presents a final report for the General Assembly.
    * Presents suggested activities for the General Assembly for the next mandate period.
    * Prepares and presents a financial report and budget for the next mandate period for the General Assembly, together with the Treasurer.
    * Cooperates with the auditor.

 

Qualifications

    * Diploma from two (eventually three) year physiotherapy training
    * Fluency in English, Dari and Pushto (written and spoken)
    * Computer and Internet skills
    * Experience with leadership responsibilities
    * Employer's written agreement for at least 50% AAPT involvement

    * Call for meetings and send agenda (prepared by President) to relevant parties.
    * Take minutes at Administrative and Executive Committee meetings.
    * Assist the President in writing proposals, reports or other relevant documents.
    * Organise translation of materials as necessary.
    * Maintain updated contact details for all members to ensure complete distribution of materials.
    * Support filing and organisation of AAPT documents and materials.

JOB DESCRIPTION TRANSLATOR/ADMIN ASSISTANT

 

General Context


The AAPT Executive and Administrative Committees are governing bodies for the AAPT. The Management Assistant works with and supports these Committees in their work, and translates necessary documents for AAPT.

The Articles of AAPT provide further guidelines for the work that needs to be supported.

 

This position is split between AAPT and PTI.

 

Location

Kabul. Travels to the field as necessary to support the work of the regional committees.

 

Role

The Translator/Management Assistant translates documents for AAPT, and supports the members of the Administrative and Executive Committees to carry out activities according to the action plan set by the General Assembly.

 

Responsibilities:

    * To translate documents from English to Dari/Pushto and from Dari/Pushto to English
    * To provide administrative support to the President and Committee members to ensure the smooth running of the Association through assisting with whatever is needed in the AAPT office; accompanying of AAPT President and Committee members at external meetings, and following and supporting the work of AAPT, and other duties as necessary.
    * To assist in the preparation for, and carrying out of the General Assembly as stated in §13 of the AAPT Articles.

 

Qualifications

    * Fluency in English, Dari and Pushto (reading, writing and speaking)
    * Computer and Internet skills
    * Organisational/administrative skills are an asset

 

Personal

The person does not need to be a physiotherapist, but should have some background in the medical-, health- and rehabilitation sector of Afghanistan. He/she is a good communicator and able to encourage and support the work of the members of the Executive and Administrative Committees.

General Context

Role

    * To ensure the that Administrative Committee and Executive Committee follow the agenda set by the General Assembly, and the reponsibilities stated in §15, §16 and §17 of the AAPT Articles.
    * To work closely with the President and support him/her by management of the Association.
    * To ensure that the General Assembly is planned and carried through as stated in §13 of the AAPT Articles.

    * Management training and experience

General Context

The Publishing and Information Officer upholds the general aim and vision of the AAPT. He/she actively carries out the decisions made by the General Assembly.

The Articles of AAPT provide further guidelines for the conduct of the P&I Officer.

Role

Apart from the general responsibilities of a member of the Executive Committee, the P&I Officer ensures publications and information materials are prepared as necessary to upholds the objectives of AAPT, and that information is distributed to the field and relevant parties. The P&I Officer works closely with the Secretary.

 

Responsible to

The President, the Executive Committee and the General Assembly

 

Specific responsibilities

    * Compile and distribute the newsletter on a quarterly basis.
    * Compile the  magazine on a yearly basis
    * Prepare materials needed for meetings, trainings etc together with the CE Officer.
    * Organise translation of materials as necessary together with the Secretary.
    * Ensure that the website is updated
    * Organise distribution of materials for awareness raising of physiotherapy in Afghanistan
    * Maintain contact with the publishing company (LEMA) in producing relevant materials as necessary for AAPT (ID cards, brochures, etc)
    * Investigate various ways of promoting and advocating for physiotherapy, for example through media etc

    * Financially responsible for the AAPT together with the President, according to Chapter 6 of the AAPT Articles.
    * Make sure membership fees are paid.
    * Make proposals and contact donors as necessary.
    * Keep reciepts and invoices, with a running recording of expenses and income.
    * Prepare and present a financial report and budget for the next mandate period for the General Assembly, together with the President.
    * Cooperate with the auditor.
