29th November: AAPT General Assembly.
At the General Assembly, the new Executive Committee will be chosen, and the Workplan for 2009 will be presented. If you want to know more about what AAPT is doing, come to the Assembly, meet physical therapy colleagues from all over the country, and take part in the development profess of physical therapy in Afghanistan.
The new Executive Committee for 2009-10 will have their first meeting on the afternoon of the 29th, after the General Assembly is finished.

30th November: Workshop – Pain and ethics in physiotherapy
The workshop will be held by Ian Edwards, physical therapist and lecturer at the School of Health Sciences (Physiotherapy), University of South Australia. The workshop will include a short session on pain, and the rest of the day will be devoted to ethics in physical therapy, within the Afghan context.

2009 AAPT participation in Mumbai conference
Four members from AAPT will be going to Mumbai to participate in the international conference organized by the Asia Western Pacific (AWP) region of WCPT together with the Indian Association for Physiotherapy (IAP). The conference is on 22nd-25th January 2009, including two days pre- and post conference workshops on the 20th-21st and the 26th-27th January.

The four members will be chosen from the new Executive Committee which will be elected at the General Assembly 29th November. Upgrading Annoucement:

The first Physiotherapy teachers and clinical supervisors upgrading graduation ceremony will be happened on the 4th of August 2009 in PTI. This was a two year modular upgrading on top of two year graduation which make the graduates equal to 4 year program.

5th Conference south Asian CBR network:

AAPT is participating in the 5th Conference South Asian CBR network in Kabul October 5 - 7 - 2009. We encourage all members to attend the conference. see link for further details(www.cbrnetwork.af).

The 4th Teacher Training Modular 4 will be held in Kabul at 10 - 15 Oct 09 . A list of names of the Physiotherapists who are eligible for this moduler has been sent to employers.
