PT Services in AFG

E-mail Print PDF
There are about 250 physical therapists in the country, including physical therapy assistants.
Physical therapists in Afghanistan are presently employed mainly by non-governmental organizations (NGOs),
although a few are working in governmental hospitals or clinics, as well as privately. It is the long-term and sustainable goal to gradually shift services into governmental institutions, as the medical sector is improved and is able to take over the provision of rehabilitation services.

More information about specific physical therapy services can be found from the different organisations which run physical therapy programmes. Please see AAPT partners and stakeholders. There is also some information on physical therapy in Afghanistan through various research projects that have been done, see PT research in AFG.
